I watch you breathe
You’re like a fish out of water
Inhaling long
Gasping sharply towards the end
Who understands
The vacuum that grips your bosom
To quench a thirst
That pains you white
With love undone
But we are all like
Fish outside a river
But few are gasping
Most are unaware like me
That life has numbed our hunger
Remind me how
I used to dream of oceans
Remind me now
As I watch you gasp for breath
