two fragments

one has my name on it
the other has yours
i imagine mine is in your pocket
yours is in this locket
resting on my heart

there is no need for pacts
or tattoos
or seals
or rings
or lockets
if a heart stays faithful
without reminder

one has my name on it
and your pocket does not carry it
you say i never leave your memory
the other has your name on it
i try to keep it close to my heart

now i stand on the highest ground i can find
at the edge of our estate
keep me near even if it takes a while
you said

keep me near, and time will come
i will keep you forever

you will see wonders
you will see miracles
you will see the dead raised
you will see heaven open
angels ascending and descending
but only one sight will captivate you
and it is the Son of Man

at the break of dawn
at the break of dawn
when fragments are made whole
